We make the perfect baklava for you.

1. Ingredients

To make baklava, you will need 500 grams of phyllo dough, 300 grams of chopped walnuts, 250 grams of melted butter, 2 cups of granulated sugar, 2.5 cups of water, and the juice of half a lemon.

2. Preparing the Layers

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350°F). Melt the butter and set it aside. Place one sheet of phyllo dough in a baking tray and brush it with melted butter. Repeat this process, layering 6 to 7 sheets of dough. Then, evenly sprinkle the chopped walnuts over the dough. Continue layering another 6 to 7 sheets of phyllo on top, brushing each layer with melted butter.

3. Cutting and Baking

Cut the baklava into your preferred shapes using a sharp knife. Bake it in the preheated oven for about 35 to 40 minutes, or until the top turns golden brown.

4. Making and Pouring the Syrup

While the baklava is baking, combine the water and sugar in a pot and bring it to a boil. Add the lemon juice and simmer for another 10 minutes. When the baklava is out of the oven and still hot, carefully pour the syrup over it. Let the syrup soak in and the baklava cool before serving. More...
